Lids (not the hats) :p

Hey, I was just wondering if you guys use lids? I've lived here for 5 months now and before that I lived in a ~98% humidity area so i was just wondering.

I keep my lid tight on my salt. I have a few laying around for when I need to transport something bigger.

Yep but I questioning whether you were referring to salt in a bucket having a lid or your tank having lids....

no i don't for better oxygen exchange in my tank. but i do have a lot of evaporation/topoff, maybe 1-2gallons a day on my 200G.

I have lids made from 1/4" square screen material, does not trap heat but keeps my suicidal fish from committing lol

lol didn't stop mine. i use eggcrate covers. 7" harlequin tusk still torpedoed onto the carpet, knocked the eggcrate off. now i have weights on the egg crate.

I used to use a lid but had allot better success keeping my pH up just using mesh to keep in the jumpers and running kalk in my ATO. More evap meant more frequent top offs and higher and more consistsnt pH from the kalk. Im sure the extra oxygen exchange didnt hurt either.

I guess I don't have the oxygen exchange/PH issue because my sump is 2x 100gallon brute containers with open tops.

Na, I go through about 5 gallons a day. but that is on a 240gallond display, with about 420gallons total water in the system
