hmmmm, I must be missing something.
What kind of hybrids are these? Maroon and what?
I could have sworn someone's already done this.

Nice looking fish but if you feed percs or ocellaris some astaxanthin you can get colors close to this.

Maroons and Ocellaris. Yeah I don't see too much that makes them any more awesome than a reddish Ocellaris. Except that they do carry the cheek spine. Just wondered if I was missing some part of why people responding to the thread thought they were just amazing.

I saw this today also crazy! Cool but crazy!
Crazy to think a maroon would even think about letting another species of clown near them. No way any of mine ever would! My female maroon clown is beating on my clown trigger as I type.

Another thing about that thread is that people still believe that hybrids are sterile like a mule.
Someone on this board has a pair of my first onyx perc/ocellaris hybrids and they laid eggs not too long ago. I believe the
eggs were fertile.

I believe its hit or miss, majority of males come out infertile while females remain fertile, but occasionally a male can be fertile. This is weird with clowns IMO becuase they can change sex so Im not sure exactly how this would work with clownfish. Can a fertile female switch to male and still be fertile?

I haven't heard of a female changing to male in clownfish. I guess it could happen but haven't
heard about it yet.

She is in QT with a nem, Im trying to get her to host so she can go back into the DT but shes not showing much interest in the nem. I got a small gold stripe on order form Nick, hoping to pair them up. I got another almost same size gold stripe about a week ago and tried to put them together but she was very aggressive towards the new one, so I removed him and got rid of him. Her obsession with the picassos was very strange. She showed no interest in my saddle backs or my percs or the other 2 nems I have in the tank, but she was hot for those picassos and their nem, and they were simply not having it!

I know if I got her to host she could go back into the DT as she would stay away from the nem the picassos host, if she doesnt host she's going on display in my 55gal reef at work where she can be the only clown in the tank until I can find her a mate.
