Im looking to start saving up for a media reactor to run Carbon through and just dont really know what is out there that is quality. I see a lot of ppl running the TLF reactor, but have heard they can be known to leak.

I was doing some research and came across a few that I would ask your opinion on:

Synergy SMR 1000

NextReef MR1

Vertex RX-U 1.5L
http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vertex-rx-u-1-5-reactor.html

Reef Octopus
http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-octopus-media-filter-4-chamber.html

I am just not sure which one would be best, or if the TLF is good enough. Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks,

I guess I didnt even see that they sell their own line of reactors. I like the look of the deluxe reactor and may consider that.

I am really happy with my Next Reef reactor. I run both GFO and Carbon through it.

TLF works fine you just need to make a few mods. First get a better o-ring for it at ACE. The one it comes with is crap, doesn't even fit snug but a few little mods and its a great little reactor.

I got a nextreef used on reef central. Very nice and available used often. I do always run it in sump incase of leak.

After looking into things further and with the BRS group buy, I purchased a BRS deluxe carbon/GFO reactor. We'll see how it works when I get it all setup.

thank you for your input and recommendations.

That's what most (99%) of the reviews said on those units. Excited to get it up and running

Oh for sure. I by no means meant to offend Derek by buying a BRS unit. If I wasn't already ordering items for the group buy I probably would have picked one of his up.

I like the BRS as well but didn't use one on my 60 because it was still a tad too bulky and I had no where to mount it. If you have room for one that would be a good way to go!

I am thinking about picking up a lifereef lcr2 this week end any thoughts on this reactor? I assume its like any of his stuff top notch?
I used a lifereef calcium reactor in the past and it worked great the only thing I would recommend is that you purchase a quality regulator for the co2 tank, if you have other questions you might want to start a new thread cause the reactors that are being talked about above are media reactors not calcium reactors

Seth I actually ordered a BRS deluxe which will be here Monday. I may be interested in the pump though if you'd be willing to sell just that by itself

If you haven't purchased a reactor yet, I have a BRS double reactor with a MJ900 or 1200 running it I would sell for $45.
Seth, I need a couple reactors, and have pumps, if you want to part out.
