Okay so here we go.

My tank went so far south I thought it was in Brazil. WHINE...corals trying or succeeding in dying. High nitrates and algae galore. My new bulbs, just fresh T-5's seem to bleach every thing out, very strange. But then I leave town for a few days and my two skunk cleaners and pistol shrimp are gone. They lived through the nitrate boom.
Here is who else lives in the tank, mandarin- no way, two black clowns, cleaner wrasse, firefish, Bengai and the melanarus. What do you guys think? Has anyone had a melanarus go for their shrimp?

I have had a melanarus tear shrimp, snails, and even emerald crabs apart before. I had to feed A LOT for it to stop seeing them as food sources. Those things are PIGS and can be pretty destructive to CUC's.

I had the same issue with my Melanarus Wrasse. He ate my cleaner shrimp and all my snails. I had to get rid of him. Everything is kosher now with him gone!
