So I am getting a lot of micro-bubbles coming out of my returns and I can't figure out why. I have a 180g tank with a 40g breader for a sump. My return pump is external and the last chamber where it draws the water from is totally clear of micro-bubbles. I can't figure out where air is getting into the return lines? Has anyone else had this problem? If so what caused it and what can I check to fix it? Any suggestions would be a great help.

I have the same problem and I am convinced its my loc line sucking air somewhere on the way out. Are you hard piped or flex piped?

I would agree with the locline, i have seen it most of the time its at the union where the locline is attached. Also check the connection from sump to pump. HTH
