Milky eye problems.

Hi all, so I'm in a pickle and I'm rather concerned. So yesterday I bought a coral beauty angle fish at elite reef. Today I woke up and he had slight milky eye. I didn't have time to deal with it since it was before school. I came home and His eye was HUGE. I took him out (had to take my rock work apart to do so:mad::wall:) and did a fresh water dip since many sources on the web said to do so. I put him bck in the tank and he swam around normally for a while. It's now been a few hours and he's swimming randomly and pumping into things. I'm really concerned, and not sure if that is a symptom. I don't a have a Q tank, so I'm going to take him back saturday if he doesn't improve. I did a water test before the chaos and every thing checked out. Now things are probably hay wire since I rearranged the rock work. If any one has any info, or advice on what to do, please let me know.

Usually Popeye responds well to anti-bacterial medication and though terrible looking it can heal quickly with a full recovery. Good luck to your new fish and Kudos to Elite Reef for working with you to solve the problem.

Unfortunately he didn't make it through the night. When I went to bed he was just swimming in circles and bumping into things. I woke up late at night to check on him; he was stuck to the intake of a circulation pump and wasn't moving. I turned the pump off and moved him, but it was to late. My guess is he was swimming in circles like earlier, but accidentally swam to close during the night. Well, sad day.

I hate loosing fish for many reasons. I feel terrible when it happens. I should have set up a temporary Q tank, and put him in it. It seemed odd that he was bumping into things, but I didn't really think he would get stuck on a pump intake. Well sad day. I'm going to wait a week for before getting another fish. So far I have yet to see any effects on water quality. Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, and Phosphate are 0, but I have noticed allot of red hair algae growing on the caulerpa in the sump, as well as the glass. There has also been more gunk in the protein skimmer than usual. Seems weird since every thing checks out at 0, I might need to get a new test kit. Thanks again C.J for the help.
