Hi everyone, I'm new to MASC and would like to get your thoughts, insights, suggestions on my tank. I am running a 90G with 2 AI Hydra 52s, Apex Controller (w/ Advanced Leak Detection, WDM Light Controller, Conductivity Probe, Breakout Box and Automatic Feeding System AFS) CAD Lights Skimmer rated to 300G, BRS Dual Media Reactor with GFO and Carbon, Bubble Magus Doing pump currently dosing Calc, Mag and Alk, stand and roll top canopy from Coastal Aquarium Designs, 20G DIY Sump and ATO. I know I want to add 1 MP40 pump, but beyond that I'm open to suggestions. I also want to add a webcam or two to my APEX, buy have absolutely no idea how to do this in case anyone could share some knowledge on that with me. Thanks,

Josh

Welcome to the community.

Seems you've got quite the setup, nice work. I have absolutely no idea on how to add the webcams

Is there anyway I could convince you to show me how the roll top canopy works?

:welcome:
Very nice setup. I know there are a few guys on here that have setup or looked into setting up a webcam for their tanks, some of them might chime in, but they have a few posts up already that you could read over.

It's a pretty ingenious design. It is actually two separate pieces that fit together perfectly to allow the canopy to roll up about 115 degrees. There is an interior piece that fits the top of the tank that is the support for the canopy, and then the outer main canopy goes on top of the interior support piece. Hopefully the pictures can really show you what's going on, otherwise I can shoot you some more pics or you could even check the thing out. Tom from Liquid Kingdom ordered the stand and canopy for me from his supplier in Texas. Took about 3 weeks from the time I placed my order until I had it at my house. They even delivered it 30 minutes away for free.

Welcome. I run the hydra 52's too and I love them! Super nice. There are some new knock off pumps called WP40 that come up in the club every now and then. Much more affordable than doing an MP40. I am running one and love the performance! Anyway welcome and thanks for sharing. Looking great!

**edit**

Do you lamps get enough air flow mounted like that?

Welcome.

To set up a webcam, get whatever ip camera that you want and set it up with a static ip address and a different http port than your apex. Once thats done, log into your router and allow port forwarding for that ip address. In the apex dashboard type in this, but change to whatever port and ip you use.

Local:
http://192.168.1.100:1234/video/mjpg.cgi

Remote
http://mydnsserver:1234/video/mjpg.cgi

Some cameras use a different extension than above, so you may need to change /video/mjpg.cgi to: /video/mjpeg.cgi or /mjpg.cgi or /mjpeg.cgi

Hope that helps

Awesome tank. Even better in person! How's your fish only coming along?

The fish only tank is ok. I had ich on my puffer and now it is all over the glass. I put my puffer in one of my QT tanks and I only have one other fish in that tank that I can't get out... I'm going to have a heck of a time getting the miniatus grouper out, but both fish are eating live feeders like crazy. I'll put up a few picks in a bit.

Bummer. Hope you get your puffer healed up quickly. Good luck catching the grouper.
