So i was watching my tank as usual tonight and saw my cleaner shrimp going over some zoas like he always does but then he stopped over them and he started tearing them apart. And now I have some zoas that have been ate. So my question is could he not be reef-safe? I hand feed him weekly with pellets and every two weeks he gets rods food.
Thanks in advance

Are you sure it was ripping it apart and not trying to get at some food in the zoas? If so sounds pretty well not safe to me, unless you dont like your zoas,

Well time will tell if they open up tomorrow or not.

My cleaners would tear apart my dying Z's. Usually more direct flow on the Z's would bring them back, not sure on the relationship there.

Hmm okay will will have to try to put more flow on them. They still haven't opened back up.

peppermint shrimp

My female peppermint shrimp (rip)used to steal food from my payls all the time. Started taking food from the gbta and i think my clown nailed her.
