OHHH the magic of masc / saltwater

#1
So I was just surfing masc today and saw a awesome 10 gallon, and thought , I really wanna do that again.... so I started thinking about how...

I started renting a house with my brother and he had a fish only tank,,, and i did fresh water cause i was scared of doing salt...

Then seeing his fish, made me get a salt tank.

So I bought a 30 gal bow, got rock, fish, eventually corals and loved it. Then I bought a 10 gallon salt tank, and then drained my 55 from fresh and turned it salt....

And went on masc and saw a large tank. And loved it

so I took my ten gallon down.

Then Got a 90 gal and set it up at my dads cause Iv succesfully ran out of outlets in places I want tanks at my house.

Then showed my dad the bio cube back when, and convinced him how cool it could look on his counter if i could keep it there.. and did that

Then after having bio cube for a few months, I convinced my dad again that " wouldnt it be so cool to have a tall *** 40 gallon there instead. so,, down went bio cube and up went 40..still there.

Then my corals in my original 30 gal out grew my tank, So i upgraded to a 46 gal... which i had a huge issue with water drainage i was un aware of and lost a lot of stuff in it...just recovered from that.

So I have done all this stuff, and last week thought to myself, I should upgrade to a 75 instead of my 46.

And then went to ryans house for strawberry fields and thats when i saw his ten gallon and was like i should do a ten again...

and as im typing this, im thinking to myself.. I have a little 2.5 bow I should do something cool with.

So I currently have.. A 46 bow reef, a 90 reef, a 55 fowlr, and a 40 fowlr, And im trying to figure out more???

I think for the sake of my sanity, I just need to do a 500 gal for an extreme and a 2.5 gallon for tiny sake...

Im assuming and hoping I am not the only one who has been this way...Sometimes...I think im going crazy.. Maybe i need to build a home under the ocean and lose the fish tank head ache all together. lol

HA!! So glad I'm not the only one.
My first salt tank was a 35 hex tank mixed reef (I didn't know how advanced that was at the time). 2 months later upgraded to a 75. Which became my sump when I upgraded to a 125 just 6 months later... not to mention adding 5 other tanks to the house, the smallest of which was a 75, that I then eliminated back to just my 125 a couple of months ago.
... and now I'm seriously considering a 10-15 gal to hold seahorses and a harlequin shrimp because they wouldn't do well in my 125...

I've collected a small garage full of parts, tanks, stands, sumps, etc. You're not alone, hahaa. Now if you could only BUY TIME. Maybe after football season, since Sundays are the only free day I got practically. But then new semester starts too, ugh...

Lol ... Ya.. I think to myself all the time that I should just sell my 55 full of live rock, its probably got about 300 lbs of rock.. and not have to worry about it anymore, and i need the cash REALLY bad, but then i look at it and think...but if i ever upgrade my 46 Ill have all the rock I need already and wont have to dish out more dough to get rock later on... And..sometimes its over whelmming , all of the "great ideas" I have. I mean, Its such a pain in the *** to have two tanks at my dads... gotta drive there to take care of it and stuff.. lol Are you the Cindy in broomfield?

You are by no means the only one. I started with a 55g FW that shortly turned into 2 55g FWs and a 46 FW bowfront. Then spawning cames and in came a 10g and 30g FW. Then the salt craze hit and I added a 55 FOWLR that soon turned into a mixed reef. Then I added a 30g SW after selling the 2 55g FWs. But that was no way enough so a snagged up a 150g SW i made into a mixed reef and a 100g cichlid tank. Months later I bought a 180g acrylic setup and the was forced to sell the remaining tanks to recoup the cost. Since then I have added a 40g frag tank to my 180 and the wife has a 1/2g FW for her beta. The garage full of equipment is also normal. Always nice to have emergency stuff laying around when something decides to quit on you.

Started with a 28g JBJ nano. Then picked up a beautiful 110g. Then decided I wanted both a FOWLR and Reef, but combined into my basement. SOOO I picked up a 225g. Before I even had those setup, I got my brother (who's my roommate right now) another 28g JBJ nano. Then because I had to stock with fish I setup three 29g QT tanks, and a fourth as a QT tank (fully setup) for frags and such. LOL...I've cut back but added a 16g nano reef now too. :) It's definitely an addiction.

I was way into reefs in the 90's and managed to kick the habit. Lol then a few years ago my daughter wanted a gold fish! Wow, that did it. Three years and 5 tanks later here I am.
