order of adding species to a task.

#1
I am trying to find information on the order in which I should add fish to my tank. I know you want more peaceful species first and semi-aggressive species later. However is there a "specific" order of adding species? IE foxface, and than dotty backs.

there is no cure for aggressive fish. some people claim that adding them in a specific order helps but that has never been my experience. Jerks will be jerks regardless.

X2!! Just do some research on what will work in your tank, and what you want. Be ready to catch a rogue every so often.

in my experiences (not a speller sorry) i think that is all about size. i try and put the smaller fish in first. this gives them plenty of places to retreat to if they need it. It makes the bigger fish earn his spot in the pecking order. but i agree. definitely be prepared to catch the little bastards if he's messing with the mojo of your tank

Are you doing a reef? I'd skip the dottyback unless you have a large tank, they are crazy territorial.

I really like The New Marine Aquarium by Michael Paletta (sp) for a really nice list for additions. I can't find my copy but most libraries seem to carry it.
