If I can only go one day, which day
would be better to pick up some basic soft corals? Also do I need to bring containers or a cooler? Thanks

I personally would go Saturday. Terrence from Neptune Systems is doing a presentation which should be awesome!
A lot of us bring our coral cooler with a heat pack in it so we can be walking arround the entire day while keeping our corals warm and happy.

Here is a pic of my coral cooler:

Best stuff will be early on Saturday. Best deals later on Sunday. I have a pile of styro shipping boxes if anybody needs any.

What kind of heat pack do you recommend to sustain the whole day and keep a good temp?

Hot hands seem to work for me at shows. They have a good 8 hour long area before they start to cool.

Be careful not to cook your stuff though. My first time transporting a coral I used a ziplock of warm sink water as a heatpack. Ended up heating the coral up to like 95degree

I use a cooler with no heat pack...never had an issue keeping things safe that way.

Many vendors will also put your purchase off to the side and bag it up later in the day...if you are going for softies though you should be fine to just drop them in the cooler and walk around all day.
