Hi, I would like a review on the new red sea max 500, protein skimmer, c skim 1800, and the lighting system on the new red sea max 500, 10 X 54 watt t5? please give opinions on these.

Thank you

Ahh, opinions? Well, i think the set up is killer. A little heavy on the wallet, but really well thought out. I mentioned in your other post that had I just ordered one of these, i would have been up and running over a month ago Instead, I've spent a lot of time trying to find the right parts used and new to save money and i'm still not finished.

Is there any way the stuff is parted out at all? The lighting system looks pretty good, with over 500 watts. Ive read bad reviews on the c skim 1800 thanks to www.google.com, it couldnt be more helpful! :). Anyways thanks for the post and I hope everything goes well. Im thinking the only thing id like to change on that system is upgrade the skimmer to a super reef octopus and the lighting with the superior ATI t5's system and add myself a MP40. I saw the red sea max at sea scape and I may have to order myself one sometime.

I've read both good and bad reviews of the C-skim. I have one waiting to go into my 120 build. The c-skim is quite large so i'm sure you could easily find a different skimmer and use it in the same place.
I am unfamiliar with the ATI t5's are you talking about using different tubes in the light bars?
The internal closed loop system should give you quite a bit of movement so i'm not sure how the mp40 would work with or against that movement.
To be honest, if you are thinking about that many changes, you will end up paying a gross amount of money for a pretty cabinet. A custom cabinet, tank with starfire glass, and all the equipment of your preference will cost you a less.
