Can you use hot water through an rodi or will it hurt the unit?

Also gotta keep in mind that your hot water is going through your water heater...and unless you have a tankless heater there's plenty extra crap getting pushed through your filters.

Ro's need lots of pressure to work effeciantly, so 80 would be fairly good

humming noise? What brand of RO is it? When does it make this noise?
The only time I have heard mine make any noise is when the float valve is close to shutting off the water flow and the back pressure then make the waste line vibrate and make a bit of noise but never really heard it hum before.

Brs 5 stage brand new(won it at reefed) it's a pretty consistent noise and it does sound like when a float valve is closing but I'm just running it wide open right now to flush the new filters.

Maybe just because it is new, if its not leaking and producing water then I would think it would be okay and may go away in time
Do you have a tds meter?

I think it might have just been some air trapped in there because it just stopped humming but now my DI is completely empty so I think I need to crack the DI open to allow the air to escape.

I think its normal pr not uncommon for the last chamber in a 5 stage not to fill up if its DI. My 4 stage did that too but after a several times of fill and shutting off it filled all the way.

I just read the manual and it says the DI has no way of releasing the air, it actually says to crack it open when it's running to let the air escape...huh who would have thought instructions would be so helpful lol.

My five stage from air water and ice says never to exceed 75 psi of inlet pressure and my DI canister only fills 25 percent of the way up too

80 psi is fine for the brs. If you have more than 90 you need to restrict the flow until its between 60 and 80 psi

You might be an engineer if...You have no life, and you can PROVE it mathematically.
