RTN? Help?

So in the last 24 hours I have lost 4 of my corals with at least another 4-6 that are on there way to death. This started very quickly over the course of 2 hours with a green Cyphastrea coral that had been in my tank for about a week. I looked into my tank and it was fine, then 2 hours later I looked again and it appeared to be covered in a white dust, so I swished some water over it and then in what looked like a cloud of dust all the green came off of it and all that was left was the bone. I immediately took what was left of the frag out of the tank. Then a few hours later I noticed that a purple monti had done the same thing and turned completely white. Now my Garf bonsai, green slimer, tri collor acro, meteor shower, and blue acro are all showing signs ranging from white spots on the tips to small areas of flesh that are just gone! Is there any way to stop this? Will it start to affect any of my LPS coral? Im not sure what to do or where to start whit this. Im going to cut off the bits that I can that are showing problems but if there is their anyone out there that has had something similar to this did you get it to stop ?
I know that is probably to late for all the corals that I have listed but I am mainly concerned with everything else in my tank I have lots of LPS and zoas as well as other SPS... If anyone knows anything about this I would love to hear from you because it is killing me just watching my corals just slowly die.

here are my tank params
29 biocube running leds
salinity 1.024
temp 77.2
Ph 8.0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0-.5ppm
ammonia 0
carbonate hardness 10dKH
calcium 400 mg/l
phosphate 0
magnesium 1125

I dont have any pics since my tank lights are not all on yet. Once they are I will try and post some.

I really need to know if this is going to affect my LPS (Brain, Duncan...)

Thank you in advance!

can't do much but frag the stuff with healthy tissue left and get all the dead stuff out

Are you using any kind of phosphate remover? I ask because this happened to me as well. I had a purple acro and a green slimer lose all their color soon after adding my phosban reactor. I moved them to another tank and they are recovering slowly.

When things calm down hit Neil for some frags. Rtn is often a mystery. Get things as stable as possible and I would do several small water changes. 3 to 5 % a day for a week or so in addition to fragging the good parts. Good luck!!!

alright brother your pretty much screwed... however I have taken some frags off of corals that were RTNing, and they have lived. there is no true cause of RTN but many have theories. you will lose most of your sps,but your zoas and lps will not be happy but they should live. during the last crisis we put them in different tanks, dipped, FW dip, super glued everything in the damn book and nada. I wish you nothing but the best, and I will give you some replacements for what you have lost.

As wicked said check ur equipment. Broken or unsealed heaters are a nightmare. There is a reason for the rtn. I've had this happen and it seemed like there was no cause, only to find out days later I had done something. If u use aerosols or paint near ur tank it can do damage pretty quick. Other causes I can think of are something on ur skin when u reached into ur tank. Idk just ideas :).

So just thought that I would post a quick update. As of this morning it appears that the spreading is slowing down! I plan on doing a large water change in a few hours as soon as it is done mixing. My heater is fine and all my pumps appear to be alright also. As far as a cause I still haven't tracked it down as I am always very careful around my tank with cleaning products and the similar. I have added about 10 new frags in the past two weeks so I was thinking something may have come in on one of those? Anyway, thankyou all for the advise I really appreciate it. I will keep updating on the status of my tank.

Thank you,
John

so thought I would update this. The RTN has now stopped spreading and my corals are trying to recover. All in all I lost these: tri collor acro, green Cyphastrea, rainbow palys, candy cane colony, ORA green birds nest, grey and red acan. There are also a few that are still alive but I'm not sure if they will recover as they are very badly damaged: Raptor peace colony, Garf bonsai, bam bam zoas. So anyway, I'm bummed that I lost what I did but it could have been a lot worse.

Could someone share what RTN stands for? From what happened I want to guess rotten.
