Rubber Reef

I am surprised I just now heard about this. I was just cruising the internet and came across some weird pictures of a "rubber reef" made out of tires off the coast of Florida.

I am sad to see how stupid man really can be. Great intentions but obviously not enough research. Looks like they are slowly removing the tires but I think it will take awhile.....

Thats crazy. Why anyone would think to use tires to build an artificial reef.

It was done with good intentions. But it had some very poor effects long term. The sad part is the clean up still is not complete. If they ever get it done, they will have much better options for trying again.
