Someone help me help my clam!

This clam has been doing great until today, has not been opening and seems to have some damage to his mantle. All my water par are great the, my other clam which is about 3" away is perfectly fine and open as usual. I added a potters wrasse last week but I have not seen him even glance at it. I also have a CBB but again I have not seen them nip at him at all. I attached a pic and mabe someone on here can shed a little more light on the situation.

My first guess would be pinched mantle. With the CBB you never know though. I thought all my zoas were melting away until I sat in front of my tank for a couple of hours and saw my hippo tang snacking on them

Well I got my answer... CBB is eating it like its a delight! Dammit I just spent a month making sure this fish would eat and now I wish he wouldn't lol. Anyone wanna buy a 10" clam??

Yep both different and the one he is going after is much larger and cannot close all the way

Just curious, but what type is it eating? Cause I had a CBB and lost a crocia(sp) in a couple days and wonder it it was the culprit.

Yep better keep resisting I'm trying to decide wether to sell the clam or the CBB

Man that sucks. If you need someplace to let the clam recuperate/heal let us know. I would, and I am sure others would also, be willing to hold it for a while for you, until you decide what to do, or until that CBB learns some manners. Best of luck.

You can put a strawberry basket over it while you make up your mind. You can also bring it over if you want - just keep track of it so it doesn't get lost in the clam garden.

I saw my hippo nipping at an sps the other day. Not sure what that was all about but i havent seen him do it since.
