Spaghetti worms

So a couple days ago I noticed in the sand bed an along some rocks what appeared to me as some sort of hair algae. Further research revealed that these things are in fact spaghetti worms also known as vermicelli and hair worms. Almost ever article I found on them stated that they are peaceful and beneficial detrivours. One article even claimed that they were an invaluable member to ones cleanup crew. The only negative comments I found were that they can become a serious irritant to zoas. I have at least one living among a decent sized colony of palythoa and it does not seem to be an irritant at all.

My question to those here are what has your experience been and should they prove to be a nuisance what might be a good solution? Many sites suggested a six line wrasse but honestly I think a six line would be more problematic in my tank. Manual removal was not an easy task and probably unrealistic.

Anyone has first hand experience?

Vermicelli! LMFAO

I loved them. I could overfeed to my hearts content and know they will eat the leftovers. I saw they stole food from my acans, chalice, and zoas a few times. I got a 3' reach stick from EL ($30 I think) so I could play GOD when things didn't suit me, I used these to move the vermicelli as I saw fit.
