Starting up questions!

Hay everyone I have talked to says its important to mix first but I just ran my RO unit into my tank and let it fill that way it will take 2 days but it worked. Adding salt into the tank sucks but u can get it done. I'm about 2 weeks out but have live rocks in and a crab cruising around. I also got a older apex jr controller and it is a must for a tank that large.

THANKS to everyone with input and suggestions. The tanks/sump/refugium are now full with RO water!! I'm leaning toward mixing the salt slowly into the rubbermaid sump and letting it pump into the tanks, slowly raising SG. Any input on why this might be a poor decision or not the best method?? I will of course have a couple pumps and/or powerheads in the sump to "mix" the salt.

OH, on a side note. My TDS for my RO was up to about 13-14 when I started this. I figured I would change out the filters after I got all the water in since it just had to be "filtered" for the most part and not pristine. Too my surprise I found that my TDS went down to 2-3 during this start up?? Is this due to the volume and constant use?? Just curious...
