Those running T5 units, how high over the water is your unit hanging at?

I guess mines a loaded question. My frag tank is 8" tall. So is 12" above the water link too close? That nets me 20" from my corals sitting on frag racks.

You could start at 12 however if. It's that let one watch close the reflectors are intense. Do corals sit in a rack or on bottom of the tank. To put the let light in perspective I ran 4 bulbs on the 75g at 8 inches above water. I was cooking stuff on the sandbed. Start with 2 bulbs and work the second set in. I lot of the corals that couldn't handle the increased par were from led and deep water corals.

I had my T5 on my frag tanks 18 inch high and the frags were 5 inchs deep from the water level, my par meter was reading 250.

Ok, sounds like I'd be smart to put in a simple pulley system, that I can raise or lower. I can start high, and lower as needed then. Off to Home Depot it is :)
