I like them both for different reasons, tapatalk has more forums available than just vbulletin, but forum runner runs faster and shows more pictures than tapatalk does. Tapatalk allows you to zoom in, forum runner doesn't (unless you have the apple version).

I'm just curious as I see so many people using these types of apps, but why don't people just use the phone browser? You can zoom in, you can see all the pictures, you can see all the threads/forums? It's the exact same thing as being on a computer?

I said the same thing until I got Tapatalk. I absolutely love it and its a lot easier to use then my phone's browser (also a lot faster too!) I have a Droid X2.

huh, maybe I just don't notice the speed haha. Works pretty much the same as any other page for me? For me, it just seemed like _another_ app to have when I could just use the browser.

I vote tapatalk over phone browser all day long as it much much faster. However I have never tried forumrunner so can say ya or na on that.

I notice it's faster than the browser since it's not loading all the "extra stuff" on the regular browser page. The other main difference is just ease of reading. Rather than having to tilt my phone and/or zoom the screen and scroll side-to-side to read text, it's all well organized and the font is large enough to read without zooming.

It's really a "dumbed-down" version of the forum, but I can find what I need much easier with their menu options.

That being said...I'd probably be using the browser instead of Tapatalk if I actually had to pay for the app. :wink:

I like Tapatalk. Loads quick and is a great format for the phone. I tried ForumRunner, but I couldn't ever get it to save my prefered forums and account info.

I use tapatalk alot. It is much faster than using the browser, so worth $2 to me. ;) I will say that with the latest upgrade it has frozen up on me a few times and that has been annoying as I had to remove it and reload it to my phone. It's kind of nice, if I open a pic in the thread they all open and I can scroll through them. It doesn't like when pics are loaded from flikr or some other photo site though, it navigates you to that site which is annoying. Overall it is super easy.

Never tried forum runner so I can't speak to how that one works, but was curious if it was better than tapatalk.
