ALL:
I was overwhelmed by my situation with family right now and frankly, overwhelmed again...but with the generosity and kindness shown to me on here. You guys are truly first class.
Since so many are eager to help, I will give you the down and dirty. My father worked for Enron almost his whole career and because of their incredible (albeit fraudulent) success, he had everything in that company. I mean, a corporate collapse was unheard of until Enron. Needless to say, they lost everything except for their home. Now in retirement age and not being able to make ends meet, they are in danger of losing their home which I was unaware of until last week. So I may be inheriting family soon.
My better half's father was injured on the job last year and mistakenly given a surgery he never should have received. With many complications, he will no longer be able to work with his right arm and earn a living. He was terminated and his last workers comp check was last month. There is a lawsuit in progress but it is not looking hopeful for a beneficial resolution, if any. With her mother laid off as well, things are just in the crapper. Such are the times I guess. I feel completely blessed on one side that I can be an anchor right now but overwhelmed on the other.
SO, with all sincerity, thank you all for the thoughtfulness and kindness. What a great community.
