Oh man... I can't believe this!! I've got about 20 gallons of water made as well if needed. I can't even imagine...
luckily I had 45 gallons of ro in the basement. My buddy some of you may know him Derek "loosehip" mixed enough water for two full 90% water changes so I should be good. Thanks for the offer.

Listen, I have a large flat full of frags and a couple of large colonies. If your tank crashes from this, come see me this weekend and pick out whatever you like, no charge.
thank you! They is extraordinarily kind of you. I'll just see what happens. If I lose everything it will probably be 6 months or so before the other tank is up and running. So I'll just cut my losses. If most of some of it makes it and its worth while to keep this tank going I will probably take you up on that offer. :)

make sure your friend watched your skimmer and water level it will go bonkers wet so lots of skimmate
Unfortunatley with it only being 28 gallons and no sump I don't run a skimmer or have any place to run one.

I don't know how many of mine are high end things like what you had. But, if you want, take enough of what's here to trade for what you really like. I'll be taking whatever is left after this weekend to LFSs in the area. If you aren't back yet, have your buddy come grab some stuff for you. I'm just so sorry this happened.

So the house sitter just called and says the tank looks great. I find "great" hard to believe but I suppose that's a good sign I have yet to receive pictures to see myself. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and am hopeful but not too hopeful. Lol

I got some pics it dosnt look good but it actually dosnt look as bad as I would have imagined. Things look pretty ****ed but i would imagine that even with just doing a 90-95% water change.I have not yet lost any fish or my coral banded shrimp so that's a good sign. My buddy is headed over again today to do another large water change and some more fresh carbon.

thanks for the offers on QT at think at this point I'm just going to let the cards fall where they may. Things seem to be doing ok at the moment I think moving them may just be more stress.

Glad to hear its not complete devastation at least. I also keep waiting to hear the corals are more vibrant than ever and she accidentally found the latest and greatest coral food :)

That's a bummer Kris!!! It's really stressful when that stuff happens and you are out of town. Something very similar has happened to me almost every time I go out of town! Makes me feel like I should never go on vacation. Sounds like your friend got to it just in time!

Well all in all things didn't turn out too bad with this believe it or not! Things are definitely a little ****ed off and all my Acros are completely white, I don't expect any of those to pull through. All the other SPS are badly bleached as well but some may recover. Most of the LPS, and Z&Ps look pretty good considering. All the coraline is bleached really bad too.

My chemistry is all of of whack. Alk is really low around 6. pH is around 7.5. Po4 is .5
ORP is around 230.

Moral of this story, don't leave extra pee cups laying around that contain feminine beauty products. Your tank sitter will mistake it as fish food.

That's AWESOME news. Sucks about the SPS and the chemistry weirdness, but I'm glad to hear it's a recoverable situation.

And yeah, unlabelled pee cups are bad news. I'll remember this situation and label everything VERY clearly when I go on my trip.
