I was in the Navy for 20 years. The best place in ever went and wasn't real costly was Figi. The diving was some of the best the people are friendly. The only draw back is it is a long flight. Also because I tried from the Navy I have some renal options that you may be interested in pm me I can possibly save you a lot of money if you don't decide to go on a cruise. I do not get anything from this.

Ive been all over the world, from New Zealand to Japan, Canada to Russia, mexico, Hawaii and just about everywhere in between, but there is one vacation in particular that always stands out

Ritz Carlton @ Montego Bay, Jamaica. All inclusive, very nice resort. Pretty girls in the sand and a red stripe in my hand!! I spent 2 weeks here and absolutly didnt want to leave, heard alot of bad things about Jamrock, didnt have one bad experience and cant wait to return!

Now, if you could charter a scuba diving / safari trip to the Galapagos, that would probably be the most amazing vacation ever!! So much bio diversity on boith land and water its crazy. It is the land of Darwin after all!

What I available to me is the armed forces vacation club. The web sight is www.afvclub.com this use to be just for the retired our active duty member. But now I can give certificates for this to friends and family. These are 7 day stays for $399.00 per unit not person.

I've been to many countries as well. My advice is if you have never been outside of the United States before, it might be hard to think about what to plan/do while you are there. My girlfriends parents paid for a cruise from Louisiana, to Jamaica, to the Cayman islands, to Cozumel Mexico, and back home. I just want to say that it is actually very nice to be able to have a set schedule and not have to WORRY about what to do. Everything is in pamphlets and there is sooooo much you can do!

I'm glad I went on a cruise for the first time leaving the states (without my family, which is who I went to other countries with), so that I have an idea of what it may be like, so it's better and easier to plan the next vacation that isn't a cruise!

If you go to the Caribbean, all I have to say is find a Margarittaville to go to! They are a BLAST and have great food! Out of all the places I've been to, the ones I really want to go back to are Sydney, Australia; Cozumel, Mexico; or Hawaii! Do look into cruises though, as they are super fun and are very relaxing on sailing days! (and man do the fruity drinks just taste so good, but get you hammered xD).

But if you have the help to plan your all inclusive vacation a head of time, then good on ya! They are very fun as long as you go to the right places!

That's an excellent point. I sometimes forget that I've got enough traveling under my belt to be comfortable navigating outside the US without much of a plan. For folks that are kinda new to the experience, there's a lot to be said for having someone else do some of the planning for you, and looking at it as a scouting trip and learning experience for planning it on your own.

And you KNOW I love all things Jimmy Buffett, SkyDiv3r, so +1000 to that. If there's a Margaritaville within range, I strongly recommend it. When there isn't, just remember that Margaritaville isn't a place, it's a state of mind.
