One of my suppliers just received a shipment of female leopard wrasses today! Was to late for may shipment this week. But if interested maybe I can call them and they will hold them for my next weeks shipment. They received small, small/medium and medium and we'd sell them to MASC members pre-paid for small $29, small/medium $33 and medium $38. If interest please let me know soon!
I'd love a small but where are you located and about when would they come in?

Are they Macropharyngodon meleagris? If so I'd be interested in two small ones in the bag, depending on what the pickup time would be.

Those bipartitus are sweet. It's too bad they are suck crappy shippers. I ordered 4 meleagris from divers den a couple of months ago and as far as I know I lost all 4. 2 were DOA and the other 2 buried in the sand and I never saw them again. They were also under 2" each. It would be sweet to be able to get some the size of the ones Cris has in his billion gallon tank at AA!

SORRY everyone for not responding about the Leopard Wrasses, but I've been VERY busy with my fishshipments and customers in the shop! I call my supplier earlier today about the Leopard Wrasses on his price list, but he told me he was just about sold ou and had ONLY one or two left! BUT he told me that he was expecting more sometime (hopefully) before Sunday. He told me to call him Sunday evening ( I have the owners cell phone number) and he'll know by than if they came and he'll reserve all that I need provided he has as many as I'll need. SOOOOO eveyone that is still interested please call me at my shop at 303-665-3322 between 11am to 7pm before Saturday evening to reserve yours! I call Sunday evening and see if they came in and reserve the Leopard Wrasses. I'll call everyone the first part of the week or you're welcome to call me and if the do indeed come in and you can pre-pay for them at special price and the'll arrive with my Thursdays shipment You'll have to pick them up Thursday or make arrangements with me for another time. REMEMBER ALL FISH BOUGHT FROM OUR SHOP (EVEN IN SHIPPERS BAG) HAVE A 72 HOUR GUARANTEE (with conditions)! Also they're several species of "Leopard Wrasse" and we're expecting Macropharyngodon meleagris from Tonga!

Things you should know about Leopard Wrasses!
1 - Leopard Wrasses are NOT good shippers
2 - Leopard Wrasee are for "EXPERTS ONLY"
3 - Leopard Wrasses are VERY shy in the begining and do not do well in very active tanks!
4 - Female Leopard Wrasse do well with each other , but male are usually aggresive toward other males.
5- ALL Leopard Wrasses are born females
6- Leopard Wrasses do best in the begining if your tank has lots of PODS for them to feed on at will! Also will take live brine shrimp as well and mysis shrimp. Will soon eat any meaty foods that are vitiman enriched.

I think this is my thread, asking if anyone happens to be going to Aquatic Art or Aquamart.

I appreciate ALL the vendors who have stepped up and offered assistance in locating a fish that seem to be in demand by many members. Seems like there's limited supply, and plenty of demand.

I have owned about ten leopards over the years with great success. They have always been easy to relocate to other tanks when I have been ready for more/others. I have never had an issue with males fighting, but that is just me. They probably won't survive a freshwater dip, copper or hypo... so know your risks of adding them straight to the display. Some of their low survival rates IMO are from moderate hypo wholesaler/store tanks (1.018 or so) and/or copper. I used to get mine direct from a hawaiian importer using full strength water, so the potters always came in awesome... and he would only ship us the other types when they came from a good collector that kept them at reef salinity and in holding tanks with substrate. If you see one in a tank with a bare bottom, or less than 1.025, or so, salinity, then I would run... these, IMO, are the ones that you take home living and they dive into the sand to finish dying.

You probably should have enough pods in your tank to feed it for at least a month. It will out compete just about any pod eating goby/blenny/fish, so I might suggest that you avoid these fish if you have a scooter, mandarin or the like that needs the pods.

Genicanthus Angels, X Triggers and Leopard Wrasses are my favorite fish, but please know your risks...

I agree I've always had success with them in "reef tanks". I've had issues with males in the same tank in my shop and my wholesale operation, but again I usually have them in much smaller tanks than most would have at home. Male's I've found recently have been very hard to find. I deal with five different saltwater suppliers each week and many will always have females from time to time. I have a very good working relationship with the owners of three of my suppliers and they know I've been looking for males and non have arrived yet!

Genicanthus angels are one of my favorite too. I usually try to keep several species in my shop and currently have a nice Swallowtail female and several small Lamarcks in stock.

For those folks shipping them in like Nick. If they would just put 2" of sand in the bags the wrasses would not kill themselves trying to bury in the plastic. LOA would go up and their mouths wouldn't have injuries.
