I am not 100% positive, but I think I may have figured out what happened. I have a 1/2 bucket of Tropic Marin salt that I have been using. Somehow it changed form from powder --> solid. The past couple of water changes I have scraped out salt with my cup, and used it, but on Monday I took the bag out, dropped it to the floor to break it backup. I've done some googling, and it appears as this can mess with the KH, calc, or both.

I need to mix up a new batch, and test the KH and calc, to see what it shows. I'll update the board after I've done that.

Now as far as my tank goes, it doesn't look good. Some of my zoa's have re-opened, but the coloring is very pale. I am also now getting some weird algae growth, probably from all of the die-off. I even lost some of my CUC. I've attached some pics, to see if anyone knows what kind of algae this is, and what might eat it.

I have totally been there when unexplained BS occurs... Like 3 weeks ago I lost 6 clams of various species. All were collectible and very awesome patterns and one by one they all gaped open and one by one they died. Some were the size of college footballs. It was heart breaking to say the least. Some I have had for years. Theres was no rhyme or reason that i could conclude why this happened. And to this day I have lost nothing else. Not even a hermit. I did multiple large water changes during this period when they started gaping. I tried to do everything that I could think of to save them and nothing worked. So I do feel your pain. Just wish sometimes this hobby wasn't such a mystery all the time. There's still so much we don't know about these corals and creatures. Good luck!!
