What would you do?

So I think based off of todays events and the unfortunate situation with jmarmaro's tank, what would you do? To get everyone up to date Jeff was out of town and his 175g sprung a leak in the bottom seal. His wife Lauren needed help so this is the short term solution we came up with.

Lauren bought some cheap kiddy pools from the store and we siphoned all the water from the tank into the kiddy pools in the garage. We then moved all the live rock into the pools. We put bubblers in there along with a heater and some circulation pumps. Lauren moved this fish in their temporary home after I left.

Just looking for thoughts or other things lauren could do till her husband gets back to make sure the livestock stays as healthy as possible in their temporary home. I believe he gets back Saturday.

Sounds like it was a pretty good route to go with a short time to act.
Great job and good thinking, would have never thought to use kiddie pools.

Fans for sure would be the only thing since its in the garage and its pretty warm out.

Yeah, she has back up water for a change if needed. Told her to leave the garage open during the day so the corals could get some sunlight and it wouldn't get to hot. Obviously close it at night. Thx for the input.

The temperature would be my concern. Not cold, heat. I have been using my central AC to keep my tank cool. Its set to 76 which keeps my water about 81 degrees. A couple days ago I forgot to turn on the AC before I left for work and got a alarm on my apex that the temp was above 82 degrees. Luckily the wife was home and it only got up to 83 but anything above that is pushing it IMO. I would venture to guess you're really asking for trouble above 85-86 degrees.

Yep, I think we are in for lower temps the next couple days so we should be good.
