Get replacement filters?
I am just wondering which stores\online retailers everyone gets replacement filters and cartridges for their RO\DI units.

Most people probably order online through BRS or some other outlet....
Lets pretend we wanted to spend just a little bit more and support our local businesses.

What is a good place in the Denver and surrounding area that you could pick up the replacement filters/cartridges. Lets say you need to start making water in 30 minutes and can't wait a few days for a delivery.

I've seen them at Aquamart, EliteReef and Liquid Kingdom. Don't forget some stores offer MASC discounts as well. I think Elite does 10% on dry goods

Stone Aquatics may be a good source. Elite Reef will still be twice as much as anywhere else even with a 10% discount. That's got to be the most overpriced store in the Denver area. Honestly if you need it right now I'd go to Home Depot or lowes as they both carry carbon blocks and tfc membranes near me for pretty cheap. Look online to see if the store near you has it first.

Not to hijack this thread but what is this cold steril Andrew? I've never heard of that. I run two ro/di units one 5 stage and one six stage filter changes are pretty pricy, how would cold steril compare?

Filter replacement maybe once a year it. It make water as fast as a sink facet. Doesn't strip the water and leaves things like calcium and mag. I know some vendors use it and they have way nicer corals than I do.

Is this a process or do you know a manufacturer.

Ask and you may find out, don't ask and you will never know.

I looked it up and found the manufacturer http://www.poly-bio-marine.com/default.htm they didn't really say anything about rodi replacement in there they talked about how to run it to remove ammonia and chemicals we might use for diseases and stuff. I'll keep looking for more information on replacing my RO with it.

One thing I did see in a thread was one person didn't have their water tested before using this and it ruined the filters because of a certain chemical and premium aquatics help with the return the manufacturer wouldn't do anything because the water was not tested before hand.

Ask and you may find out, don't ask and you will never know.

Our water is fine did you go to animal attractions in Greeley they use it we have been brainwashed to think RO/DI is the only answer. I know there are high end Coral dealers that use them

My water sucks, i think TDS is over 400 before the RO unit gets it. I have a poor mans sprinkler system (garden hose setup) I have to clean the white powder gunk every year or the heads dont work. Have a feeling that wouldnt work for me.

I too went through the website, couldn't find anything about tds, it did specifically state that the filter does NOT remove chloramines so additional treatment is needed. I could be wrong but this looks more like an in-tank reactor and not a method of making water. The heavy metal filtration is interesting.

That was my impression as well. They talked about when to turn it on and when you can run 24/7. It's sounds like a really neat idea. But the heavy metals consern me a bit. I read on a couple of threads that the aluminum over time could start to build up.

Ask and you may find out, don't ask and you will never know.
