Re: WTB Acropora Crabs

I can't catch the little guys I have...

I don't believe there are any reports that they for sure eat red bugs. But they do help eliminate pests supposedly...maybe they eat or kill redbug/AEFW eggs there by reducing numbers. I am not sure though.

I don't think they eat red bugs since the bugs are so small. I personally just think they are cool. Kind of how clown fish hang out with an anemone. No luck finding them.

Re: WTB Acropora Crabs

Had an acro crab...lost the colony it was living in to red bugs.

After he tried to relocate to another colony...my wrasse at him. :( He didn't seem to do much as far as protecting the colony from red bugs, but he did remove/eat detritus that settled at the base of the colony where he hung out.

They're pretty entertaining, but I don't think they patrol a colony like a wrasse searching for food...mine was usually in 1 or 2 spots on the colony and rarely budged.

me too. they are super hard to find though.
Ya might want to tell folks if you sold any coral in the last month or two. (or are selling coral). I recall the last outbreak before DBTC in November.

So far it's isolated to just the one tank. I haven't swapped anything back and forth between the 2.
