My only issue with kessils right now is its hard to find the newer models at really any discount whatsoever, and i'm afraid i spend all that money and the color is too blue or i get a head ache from my shimmer. I have never really seen kessils over anything other than a frag tank and that doesnt really give me an idea of what my whole tank will look like. I guess if I find a good deal on a kessil I will try it out but a lot of people have told me not to get kessils and to look into an AI or a Radion.

I have a 34g cube with a kessil a160we and a 60g cube with an AI hydra 26. The kessil is nice but the I like Hydra 26 the best. The Hydra 26 has way more adjust ability in color, and the blues are richer than the kessil, making the colors pop more.

I wish i could find a deal on a nice AI or a Radion but they are usually out of my budget or sell before i get a chance.

I definitely understand. I really do like my kessil and it amazes me how much light it puts out for how small it is.

Kessils might not work out because they are usually out of my price range. Do you know anywhere to get a used AI for a good deal. Preferably one that would work on a 25 cube and in the future get another one for my 75.

One of the more challenging aspects of this hobby is patience. I would suggest to you to wait and save up the money for the light that you really want, even if it takes you a year. Ask your neighbors if you can mow their grass or weed their gardens to earn some more money for the light. For me, anytime I have bought a piece of equipment because it was was cheaper, I usually end up buying the one I really wanted later. Doing this costs more in the long run (and is money you could have spent on fish and corals!)
