Hey MASC,

I'm interested in buying a rock flower anemone. Open to various color types and looking for a nem no larger than ~4" in diameter.

I'm in Broomfield but am flexible on pick up location.

Thanks!

AquaMart does have a lot of awesome nems, but they are over priced IMO. About 9 months ago I purchased a 1.5" rock nem from there, before they had 100's to choose from, and payed roughly 60% of what they are charging now. Supply and demand doesn't make sense to justify the current prices; just some food for thought.

Thanks for the input. I'll certainly check out Aquamart - I've always liked getting livestock from there.

Out of curiosity what would be an appropriate price for a rock flower nem? Let's say for one 3" in diameter?

Price depends on size and coloration.

Aquatic Art had a few the other day when we were there for the meeting, might check with them and see if they still have some

No problem. I have purchased livestock, fish corals and inverts, from there too without any complaints. Most of the rock flower anemones, E. crucifier, that I have seen for sale are in the 1"-2" range, but they do grow quickly. Mine went from around 1.5" to 4" in about 9 months with occasional target feeding. I cannot say what is or is not appropriate price wise. However, if you see a rock flower anemone that you like and you are willing to pay what is being asked then the price is appropriate :)

Too true! Great input guys, I looked over at the Aquamart Livestock video and they certainly had a lot of rock flower nems at the time of the video. I'll be checking them out for sure. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't checked out Aquatic Art before. I may give them a call to see what they have.

As a collector of rock nems I can tell you price is going to be based on coloration. Reds and greens tend to be the standard, easily available, I personally wouldnt pay more than $30. For ultras I would go up to $50-$60 depending on color, but thats just me

Thanks for the input folks. Sophie, thanks for the suggestion - I went to Elite Reef first but ended up driving down to Lakewood to check out what Aquamart had. Ended up getting one there.

New addition is looking nice in the tank. Please close this thread.
