Nice setup guys, sorry if i only looked at pics through this thread lol... amazing hitchhiker too! I may have missed something but is your water change setup out in the garage? and it froze once? what did you do to prevent it from happening again? maybe i just need to crack a beer and reread this whole thread...

Insulated the garage doors and we’ve put a heating pad near the RO when it’s really cold. No issues this year.

So our fish stock is beginning to look a lot healthier and more promising. We’ve decided to be done with Powder Blue tangs for the foreseeable future as we’ve lost another but that was quite a bit back. Here’s the current list:
Blue hippo tang
Desjardini Sailfin tang
White tail tang
Magnificent fox face
Peppermint Hogfish
2 Clarkii clowns
Mandarin dragonette
6 Talbots damsels
6-line wrasse
Yellow coris wrasse
Leopard wrasse
Cleaner wrasse

When we added the Florida live rock, we got a fun little mantis shrimp hitchhiker. So we hatched a plan to set up a satellite tank so that we could keep him separate from all our crabs and inverts.

There was still an open spot on the manifold (love this tank!), so the return pump feeds the satelite tank. Then it gravity feeds back into the sump. Mike put together a simple little trap baited with some frozen, and we watched as the little guy took the bait. He’s in the inverted head of the bottle being curious in this picture.

We pulled one of the paly/mushroom rocks out of the display for his tank and hooked up a spare kessil light we had laying around. Now he’s got his own little tank right next to the display. We’ve been enjoying watching him.

He’s definitely bigger than we thought!
