They are kind of orange and stringy.

If they are coming out of a crevice in the rock, and they can recede back into the hole, they are probably tentacles of a spaghetti worm.

They can live in the sand too. They can eat all kinds of things that get near them. The even eat fish disease parasites like Ich Tomonts. They are great to have, IMO.
