16g Biocube....

So my boss walked up to me today at work and gave me a used Biocube 16g and said it would be best used by me. So I guess I am setting up a 16g Biocube.


Going to be moving my pair of orange stripe cardinals and watchman gobies to this tank once it has cycled and what not.


To Do's on this biocube:
Break off the flow limiter tab
Remove all the guts in the second chamber
Silicone a LED light on the back glass for a fuge
Upgrade the pump to a Maxijet 1200 or 900
get a Hydor FLO


Still debating on doing LED's or not. But if I do LED's I will be doing the Current LED strips 2x 50/50 and 1 6.5k

Sand I am going to use some of the sand I have laying arround to do a salt and pepper sand.

Ok so got water in the tank. I turned on the Lights and 1 bulb is burned out and the fans need replaced. So looks like I am going LED sooner rather than later.

TODO list for the tank:

LED retrofit
Fan replacement
get chaeto to put in the back chamber
put some bactiv8 in after a week
get moon lights
make a couple of rocks with holes for small gobies to hide in.
and wait the 2 week cycle with bactiv8

add a tester goby like a randifordi goby

I am debating on either doing a rapid kit or just do some Current LED strips.

Like I said I love mine and would do it again in a heartbeat...great costumer service I initially emailed them asking if they gave discounts for members on forums they sponsored and they said no but gave me a 5% Off code so that helped

Well I merged the contents of this tank into my 104g cube and took this tank down.


I did end up doing 3 current strip leds in the hood but pretty much all for nothing at this point.
