So, I wanted to polish up my beautiful 110 acrylic before completing the build. Well, apparently my knowledge and skills suck. I got a Pentair acrylic scratch removal kit and followed the instructions VERY carefully. Ummm...it sucks. I feel like I've ruined this beautiful tank, though I'm sure it could be rehabbed back to "showroom" with an experienced hand.
SO...is there anywhere I can have this professionally done, without the cost of simply buying a new one? OR, is there anyone here that can work some magic! I have no idea what I could provide in compensation other than; drinks of choice, foods of choice, some greenbacks...?? (unfortunately no frags to give up, not there yet )
If anyone does have experience and is willing to spare some time, even if just to teach/coach (while I do the labor)...I'm good with that. I'm off this Thurs-Sat.
Story:
I spent about 6 hours going from the coarsest grit in the kit to the highest. About 9 levels I believe (all the way to 12000). Took forever and I did the perpendicular scratching as it instructed using a sand block by hand. Apparently my head completely fell off and I did the whole tank figuring this would be a cinch following the kit's directions, INSTEAD of just doing a side. I did finally use my random orbital buffer with the polish and it seemed to help compared to what it was...still issues. At a loss...
