ATI Bulb Retrofit and Fixture

I am looking to purchase a 36in t5 light fixture to be used on a 40 breeder. I love the flexibility 3rd party builds give you (in this case the ATI bulb combinations) although in buying most fixtures you are also buying the bulbs that come standard. Even when buying a fairly inexpensive Coralife 4 bulb fixture, with all 4 bulbs replaced with ATI's and the fixture itself the price comes close to that of an AI sol. Is there something I am missing? I have yet to see many fixtures that don't come standard with t5 bulbs, usually a couple actanics and two 10,000k whites. Personally this is much to yellow for my liking. Also would DIY be the best bet, or repurposing a grow light t5 fixture?

What are you trying to do? Are you wanting to do combo LED/T5, or just LED? Are you comfortable in the DIY area with electrical and soldering? If so then DIY might be the way to go.

Why not just find a used 4-6 bulb ATI fixture and buy new bulbs?
