So may I ask, if you don't vote what are you doing to change what you are unhappy about? What are non voters doing to make things better?
Just to play devil's advocate.

What are the voters doing to make things better? Regardless of who we vote for, we are pretty much in the same position.

Is it better to do nothing than to do something that is later decided to be a mistake?
If so, then nothing would ever be accomplished.

"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph."

Just trying to keep a roof over our heads. If you don't like the major parties, vote in a third party.

No vote = doesn't matter what you have to say about the current state of the nation. You had your chance to change the status quo. 60% is the majority, not sure if you guys caught that.

This.

There's a thread on legalizing somewhere, I'll find it and link it. I'm still convinced that it would cost more to legalize than continue down the same path

also think about the jobs its created all the empty retail spaces that are now rented

yes such a terible thing to have happen grown adults able to make a decision for themselves

With legalizing mj here you would also be taking the cash out of the drug dealers hands and putting in the hands of the state, which is a better place for it to be if you ask me.

Gary Johnson would be a great pick, he would be the only one that would actually secure the border, which is a HUGE problem in this country. Unfortunately, Johnson will not win. The open border is causing great problems for this country from jobs to health care rates to drugs. Neither Republican or Democrats will do anything about the border for fear they will completely lose the Hispanic vote.

Its clear what Obama will bring, more debt and no accountability. Obama is too quick to blame someone else. Still no answers on Libya, guess he's waiting until after the election to have a press conference on how he denied those four Americans three times for help in a 7 hour fight. I have family serving overseas at the moments and I hope to God they won't have to rely in this President for help if they are in harms way. I also have four kids and I don't want them to have to pay for the reckless spending we are doing now. Obama is Bush on steroids. I never thought we would have a worse President than Jimmy Carter.

The border is the issue? Lazy people are the issue. Case and point; Alabama and their immigration law. The only people who would work for below minimum wage are the Mexicans. Alabama passed a law so that Mexicans couldn't work in the state and would impose heavy fines for employers who did hire them. Where's the issue? When it came time to harvest the crops, there was no workers. The locals were too lazy to do the work. The result, higher food prices. Yup, you're right, them dang Mexicans are a huge problem.

Couldn't agree more with lazy people. Too many people looking for government handouts and becoming too dependent on government handouts. Have another child and the government will give you more money. Some people need help getting on their feet while others abuse the system far too much.

The border is a huge issue...you think its just the the crops getting harvested? Have you been to a construction site lately? Have you hired a contractor to do some work and asked if they employ legal workers? Have you been in the kitchen in many restaurants? If you think it's just the crops your crazy.

Health care is getting destroyed by people legal and illegal that don't have health care and get free treatment. Guess what, it's the people who do have and pay for health care that end up paying the price. Our rates go up and up and up because someone has to make up for what isn't being paid for by others. Ever heard of an anchor baby?

Government needs to make everyone who is on assistance do some sort of community service as well as take drug screens. I know many jobs now require workers to take drug screens for employment. Why should many have to take drug screens in order to have a job and pay taxes while others who do not work and collect a government assistance check are not forced to? Force the people to provide some type of community service and many more will look a little harder for a job or take a job that they think is a little below them.

I have to add something people who pick crops and are remotely good at it make well more than min wage. We just don't want to do the dirty work

I'm not a sell out to the "almighty dollar" for much of anything as I'm principle and morally based. I'd rather parks not be groomed weekly....I'd rather turn off every other street light....medians not be mowed....etc etc...to get through tough economic times, rather than sell out to some idea of finding an alternative way to create income that is detrimental for the youth of this country/society.

There are tons more issues/examples to point out...but here is the easiest. Does the legal age of alcohol affect the ability for those under the age to get their hands on it?!? Any of us able to remember high school and college know the answer to that. Is the "abuse" not far more detrimental for those under age rather than adults when it comes to MJ...absolutely. What about cigarettes...driven by a high school lately?!? Why gamble with our children and their future?? Here's just a quick link for the other side of the coin on the issue...just for anyone interested. Believe me I know the other side, and deal with it daily. ;)

The Netherlands have become a terrific case study as it turns out, on the societal effects of legalizing drugs. They have almost completely turned around from what they used to be after seeing the aftermath legalization left behind.

And as much as I can't stand Hickenlooper...at least he's up on this issue as well.

let me ask you something, do you protest the opening of pharmacy's ? It sounds like you should be if your so worried about the children, the drugs coming out of walgreens are way more detramental to the children then marijuana. Its all about ADULTS being able to make a choice for themselves. Alcohol, tabacco and even synthetic marijuana are able to be purchased by adults here but you think it would be so bad if a plant that grows in the ground was sold to ADULTS. Do you even know why its illeagle in the first place? The almighty dollar and a little company named Dow.
