So of course I cannot get a pic of him cause every time I get near the tank he runs and hides but he is a hitchhiker and I don't know if he is mean or nice. He was just out so I am assuming he is not nocturnal, his claws are red and has the body of an emerald crab. His body is kind of a camoflouge color. If he is a meany how can I catch him and get him out?

Are the tips black or the clows just a sollid color?

Sharp claws are often a way to identify preditorial species. But this is not always true, most of the time though.

That is very nice, thanks! I was googling red claw crabs and couldn't find a thing. Unfortunately I only saw him for a brief moment and didn't get the best look, I am thinking it is this guy though.

Body color looks very similar and claw color is similar. Never saw black on the claws like with the Xanthidae.

I love finding little hitchhiker crabs in my tank. They all seem to get along when I throw them into my sump.

This is a tough one. He really isn't doing any damage right now, but what about when he gets bigger? Might be better to be proactive here and remove him just in case. Maybe pm me a good time and we can meet up later this week. I see you are in firestone so that will make it very easy. Thank you for the help.
