Filter socks

How often do you clean out your filter socks? I have a filter sock on my IM Nuvo 30L on one side and I put polyfill in the top rack of my media tray on the other.

Just kidding, I used to have a sump that had 2 filter socks at the intake of the sump, when they would clog the water would flow over the first wall and into the second sump chamber. Then I'd change them. Was probably at least once a week. Good to have backups of your backups....and then a few more backups.

After my weekly water change... I really like the socks with the zip tie at the top, seems to keep the salt creep way down.

I toss mine in the wash with bleach and baking soda, extra rinse then dry in deyer

I wouldn't use soap. Soaps are loaded with phosphates. I use bleach
