So today the lights turn on and I notice my tank water a little cloudy. Half of my corals aren't opening, acros stn'ing, nem shriveled up. I quickly run a battery of tests, everything changed, but not by much. I go to check my water level on my sump, and there it is. My fuge light had fallen into the fuge overnight :wall: Obviously my grounding probe isn't grounded properly, currently its connected to a ground in my GFCI. Besides a w/c, what can a guy do?

To make matters worse, I took the light out of the fuge but didn't unplug it. I just set it on the rim and to let it dry while I beat myself up over this. This just set me up for failure. When I knocked the light back into the fuge, of course I had to get it out again. I realized I didn't unplug it when the first sharp tingle shot up my arm. But I had to get it out, so as my arm siezed up and gripped the light harder I had to reach over to the outlet to unplug it. I finally got it unplugged and into the sink. :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

Sucks. sorry to hear. Not to steal your thread but similiar thing yesterday to me. Do a water change, go to turn pumps back on, one of the mag 7s won't turn on. Take it apart, put it back in, turning switch on, off on off, must have got switch wet. One hand in sump feeling vibration from pump, one hand on switch...owie...

Thread thief! You got mag 7's for a w/c, lucky. I got a siphon and a turkey baster. When I get bored I pick up the barrel and just dump it in.

Oh man that sucks big time. I had the same thing happen to me. Luckily I'm lazy and I don't harvest my chaeto so my light was riding around on top of the chaeto and didn't get wet.

If you loose that purple/turned green acro you got from me, I have another big frag here I was going to DBTC but you can have it.

Weird day all around. My rose bubble decided that it was too big so it decided to frag itself by jamming itself into an MP40.
Now I have more than one rose bubble though hehe.

Most of the acros are turning white, the z's are still closed up. I think my clams are toast, they've been closed up all day. Honestly, if everything dies, I'm out.

+1 I would also be willing to help you restock. I would even make everything as close to a colony as i can for you.

OMG I'm sorry to hear that bro. You can have those bam bams and rose nebulas back that I bought and have a few other things I will gladly give you. I will be in Greeley tomorrow let me know. Glad you didn't hurt yourself too bad from the shock.

Thanks guys, just bummed some of my favorites are gone. No need to give anything back. I'm thinking corals don't like 10+ hours of electro shock therapy. The only fish I'm worried about is my mandarin, he eats frozen, but his supplement pods are gone. Lesson learned, secure lights above open water REALLY good....and unplug electrical stuff in the water BEFORE you get it out.

Really surprised it didn't trip a breaker. Don't get out if it turns south for you, I have several things I can frag for you to help you restock.
