I have two 5g buckets loaded with sand that covered my 225g. It's medium/coarse sand. Not full-on crushed coral and not fine either. Medium is what I was shooting for and was very happy with it.
It's been "dry" for awhile now so it would need to be quick rinsed (or not) and then good to go.
