Hello everyone!

I’ve kept freshwater tanks, some heavily planted for a long time now but decided it was time to try saltwater. Biggest difference I noticed right away is how much slower things happen with a saltwater tank. Although I’m sure both fresh and salt water tanks can crash equally fast.

First tank was a little (micro actually) 2.5 gallon pico tank set up in December. Then I happened to run across an Aqueon evolve 8 on sale and picked that up. Switched everything to the evolve a couple weeks ago.

Tank contents:
Stock Evolve lights and water pump (which is noisy :upset:)
2.5 lbs of cured Pukani dry live rock.
Aragonite dry sand
1 – 2 small pieces of real live rock carried over from the pico tank
A few small Zoa’s, mushrooms, paly’s and 2 Astraea snails and 1 Nassarius snail

I plan on doing a DIY LED light fixture in the next two weeks.
CREE LED’s with dimmers.

Any suggestions on anything?

Here's my tank

Hello and welcome,
Nice looking nano. How about posting some pics of your planted aquarium. I have been putting some thought into setting up a Dutch style aquarium.
