My fathers tank seems to be over grown in this and it won't go away, constant water changes and 0nitrates still have not eliminated it. It's growing like a weed??? Any ideas?? I tried raising mag to 1700 and still no change

Yep it is, I've never used one but hear they mow down algae.

If all else fails, take the rock out and put out in a 50/50 h2o2 and water. Let it sit for ~10 min. You'll see the algae die.

BTW, the algae is consuming your nitrates giving you a false reading of 0.

What kind is he? I did a fresh water dip and it did not kill all of it. I also have some rocks that can not be pulled out

I just picked up a sea urchin at reef ed he is making a dent on my algae
+1. No algae in my tank since I got one of the exact same type. Just don't do it if you have acrylic because I hear they can gouge it.

I just inherited a white pin cushion and the thing loves red turf algae. But I have yet seen it go after any other stuff.

Well once it eats through my small algae problem then I can drop him off and he can clean your tank.
