So, was a typical Boogie day, you know the type, looking at the tanks, thinking about how easy it would be to move just one thing...yeah...right...

So after having done most of the rearranging, I had one piece left...hmm...where would it go? Here, no..maybe here, nope...ahh, there it is, right over here...now just wiggle it around a little to get it to fit...OW! WTF!

Dropped that last piece into the sand and pulled my, what I assummed would be nothing but a bloody stump, hand from the water and, upon investigation of my water logged fingers, found not one, not two but closer to three MILLION (possibly BILLION) little splinters of death sticking out of my middle finger...son of a asdlkfajsldkfj bristle worm go me.

I tried removing the satantic spines with tweasers but was having a hard time focusing through the tears. Tried wrapping my finger in duct tape but these dagger like tools of destruction shreaded right thought it as if they were a hot knife and this industrial strength tape was mere butter (ok, not really but come on, it adds to the story, and I might as well at least have ONE embelishment)

Luckily I lIVE close to a hospital and they were able to remove the spines, unfortunatly they had to remove my finger, boil off the pure evil then reattach (not even a scar, I'm so lucky).

Sooooo, anyways, I think I'm gonna get a sixline wrasse...thats it..maybe one for each tank. Vengance will be mine!

lol
gotta love bristle worms:)

After the duct tape I normally soak the finger in pure vinegar for about five minutes just to dissolve what wouldn't attach to the duct tape.

ouch boogie. I was cleaning out the back of my cube once and grabbed one of those suckers. was not fun at all! i just ran it under hot water and scrubbed it with a brush. itched / burned like crazy for a while.

mine used to keep them in line. never got rid of them but definitely kept the population down.

I have those thick rubber gloves they sell for like $30. They really aren't good for anything but moving rock, but they are great for that. Aiptasia, bristleworms, sharp tubeworms etc. I'd really recommend it.

Ah, no fun at all. I have lots, but I only see them when I feed them. @Boogie - I've heard those cheap traps are pretty effective too. Just put them in every night and remove them in the morning. It's another option if you cant find a suitable predator.

One trick I was told about was put some food into an old pantyhose or nylock stocking, drop it where you think they are and wait once they are on it, spin it and bam they are stuck to it

Was pretty funny but after I was so unjustly attacked I still had to move the rock that I dropped. I had no gloves so I went with the next best thing...a sandwich baggie...I grabbed the rock and flipped it over and there he was, starring at me with what I could swear was a grin and a pattern of death needles that appeared to form the one finger salute. I placed the rock and bowed to my enemy as he had won this fight....for now....

Truly the duct tape was a gift from the heavens. I tried with tweasers but that was too much like brain damage. .

That would be the goal. I know they are beneficial but I wouldn't mind keeping them check
