I don't have mine yet but I was planning on not using the epoxy.....I think I'll drill and tap the heatsinks.
Even with drilling and tapping you'll need thermal paste or thermal pads. Here's a super cheap source for paste: http://s.dealextreme.com/search/thermal+paste

Thermal epoxy can be bought from rapidled.com. Parts A and B have enough epoxy for about 30-40 LED stars if you use it sparingly. 5 minute cure. It's $7 plus shipping.

If you want more, you can get 2 oz of thermal epoxy for $12 plus shipping with item OB-101-2 at http://www.omega.com/ppt/pptsc.asp?ref=OB-100_OB-200_OT-200. 30 minute cure.

Heat sinks can be found at heatsinkusa.com and rapidled.com. Heatsinkusa looks slightly cheaper before shipping.

Yep, was planning on Arctic silver. I like the costs of those pastes you linked to but I read too many reviews saying that they are more liquid than paste and tough to clean up. I heard there is an extrusion company up in the Lousville area...has anyone tried to get some heatsink material locally?

Thanks for researching that.

Regardless, thermal paste or epoxy is a necessity.

Just remember that whatever paste or epoxy you choose, less is better. The goal is to maximize contact between the LED star and the heat sink. Using a lot of paste or epoxy actually reduces heat transfer to the heat sink.

Yes, but that was for an array of 5mm LEDs. I removed those pics. These are so much easier. Solder LED connections, epoxy them down, connect driver wires and you're done.

This is one heck of an order.

(1 LED lot = 10 LEDs)
10 lots 3W warm white LEDs, 700mA
19 lots 3W white, LEDs 700mA
2 lots 3W cool white LEDs, 700mA
1 lot 3W 620~630nm red LEDs, 700mA
29 lots 3W 440~460nm super blue LEDs, 700mA
28 lots 3W 460~475mn blue LEDs, 700mA
40 LED lens 90 degree
740 LED lens 60 degree
160 LED lens 45 degree
13 30W dimming drivers
17 60W dimming drivers
23 potentiometers
1 BlueDTY60WF0B12-5050
