Looking for file fish or copperband butterfly to eat Aptasia

#1
Got some Aptasia and I am looking for some helpers to get rid of Aptasia.
Do have Red sea liquid but these are located in far reach crooked places, don't want to disturb rocks.

Please send me pm with location, phone and price.

Thanks and good day.

Yes, but do your filefish eat aptasia? Are your copperbands eating frozens?

These are the 2 biggest issues I have with these types of fish.

Ive bought 2 from Elite, not one ever ate a single aptasia, not sure who their supplier is for them, but they are not coming out of the right part of the ocean to eat aptasia, I had good success with one I got from Aquamart (1 of the 2), and I had Nick w/ Ambrosia Aquatics special order me one. The one i got form Nick began eating aptasia almost as soon as I added him to the DT.

just keep in mind that as with any fish thay may or may not do the job

I would agree, I have had great success with Aquamarts pepprmints, I just have a PITA coral banded shrimp who seems to like peppermint! $6 snacks are not cheap. LOL

Yeah, I hate to admit it, because he was a living creature, but I was happy to see my coral banded go, for the same reason. I'll never get another one.

Most all species Chaetodon Butterfly's are FANTASTIC aiptasia eaters. I've found the best being Chaetodo trichrous or known as Tahiti Butterfly. If you can find them they are very hardy and compete well with other fish that you may have in your reef system such as tangs! They're model citizens in a reef tank about 95% of the time. Their close relative the Kleinii Butterfly is also excellent too and much easier to find and less expensive than Tahiti Butterflys, Aipasia Eating Filefish and Copperbands. My personal experience with Aiptasia Eating Filefish is 50% are great at eating aiptasia the 50% worthless, except picking on your corals. Peppermint Shrimp are also great too, but they've been known to attack some species of your reef safe starfish.

I heard Chad eats aptasia too!
Lol I'm certain you're not talking about me, because I only eat cookies :)

However I have had success in the past with a file fish eating aiptasia for a year and a half in a mixed reef with little problems and zero visible aiptasia. However the last 2 that I have got in replacement have not eaten nor touched aiptasia. I'm going for a CBB next :D
