Looking for Halloween Hermit Crabs

I consider livestock from Petco a "rescue" as well. I got my purple tang from one several months ago. He started out looking rough, went through QT time awesome, and is absolutely pristine and beautiful now. Not all end that way, but it was a good rescue.

I saw PETCO at southlands had 4 or 5 for sale last week. $4.99 each. They just sell them as lrg asst reef hermit crabs. You have to look to see if they are Halloween hermits when they get them. But last week they were.

Yup, I got a halloween for that price at Petco awhile back. Good score at that pricing for sure.

So I did a little research last night and found that I have Hawaiian Elegant Hermit crabs which are mistaken for Halloween hermits. Lots of online sites offer them as Elegant Hermit Crab (Halloween) interesting........... there isn't a lot of info on them either.

Can someone clarify: Black & Orange vs. Halloween vs. Electric Orange, are they three distinct varieties or some are nicknames?

They were pretty big. I wish they would of had more. I have been checking once a week and this is the first time I saw them. They just order Assorted Hermits and its random what they get.
