So I got some macro algae from pisces ll and khensura both which are sweet. But they have started to get "bleached". I don't know if this means it is growing or not as I have never had macro algae. But it is the worse on my dragons breath macro algae. When I got it in my tank It looked great! It had very orange tips. But now it has lost it orange tips and deep red color on the top. On the bottom It is a dark red with orange tips but not on the top where it is bigger. Same goes with my other macro algae. What is happening? Thanks

What do you use for nutrient export? DSB, bio-pellets, vodka, GFO, etc?

Bleached means dying. If the Halymenia is not receiving enough light it will go clear as well, mainly in the areas where it was once orange. New growth might be lighter in color but not clear.

Are you still fighting the GHA? And if so what ever you are doing to fight it, might be affecting your good macro as well.

Yes I'm fighting byropsis and gha although I got a sea cucumber so the gha should get tooken care of. What I am doing for byropsis is scrubbing it down lots of water changes and I have been letting the magnesium go back down but once it is at 1250 again I was planning on usin Kent marine magnesium unless this will after my macros.

Maybe too much light?
Perhaps I have 2 55 watt t5 light bulbs over my tank. It is the red sea max stock lighting

I don't think light is an issue as I have 120watt led over my tank and it is doing great. Be good to see to pic when you get a chance.
