Nebraska marine shoots bear

A bear went into a home in estes and was shot this last week.
The 3 year old black bear was in the kitchen raiding the food when the family came home and the man shot the bear.
Colo DOW want to charge the marine saying his actions were reckless and cost the bear its life.
I am absolutely appalled by this.
The DOW would have done the same if the incident was reported, using the danger to human population excuse.
BOTTOM LINE~ the bear was coming to close to humans, and viewed them as a potential source of a meal.
Yet this man is being persecuted?
Our government is made of a bunch of two faced- finger pointing- excuse driven- pansies.
How many times have bears or other wildlife been killed in much more terrible ways, only to have a blind eye turned, while this isolated and unfortunate incident gets the spotlight?
The DOW woman on the news had no business doing that job, she is obviously a step behind, and a total robot, spewing pre-programed rhetoric.
THIS IS COLORADO, there are animals, and we take action when they become a danger,
This is about the most hypocritical witch hunt I have seen in a while.
Rant over~

To bad we don't punish humans to the extent of animals. Animals account for such a small percent of humans deaths each year. If we humans want to live on the edge with animals then we need to respect them as well. It is us as a race that has made it almost impossible for animals to roam and eat to live their life's. People need to learn how to live with wild animals.

I hope that guy gets a huge fine and never comes back to Colorado. One should know that the people of Estes value the life of their animal friends and if they had half a brain, they would know that.

I was all for him until I read the bear was already running away before he even fired a shot and had to chase it down to unload into it. Doesn't seem like him or his family was in danger.

If the bear was running away, and his family was in no danger then there was no need to kill it.

YES I like it. I do however chasing down a fleeing bear to kill it out of season is probably not right. I was all for him like someone else said until I read the bear was fleeing. I agree 100% with the billboard.

Because if it had been a Los Angeles gang banger he would have missed the bear and hit an innocent by standard,

I say bull****! Bear comes into my house I will grab my 12 gauge and take the mother out... There is a reason we are on top of the food chain.. Not by being pansies! Unfortunately I live in a neighborhood where if I leave my windows open then people would come in my house and take more than my food. I would shoot them too.

To those of you who say that was the wrong action of the man to take. Go out camping, deep in the woods into bear country and go take some of the bears food and see if he shows you mercy.

Not meaning to offend anybody hope I didn't but I am a hunter and I have a family so if I lived up mountains I would leave my windows open. If a bear came in my house once, I know he would come in again. I wouldn't take the chance either.
