We are doing something new this year for fund raising for our baseball league. We're doing a golf ball drop at our opening day ceremonies. Basically the way this works is people who purchase balls will be given a number or numbers if multiple balls are purchased. On the day of the event a giant target will be laid out on the infield of our baseball field and a helicopter will fly over and dump the balls. Any balls that hit the target will be given prizes accordingly. I know a lot of the prizes are things like gift cards and certificates to local businesses and such, I also know the ball that lands the furthest away from the target will win an Ipad as well. You don’t have to be present to win.
The kid that sells the most balls will be given a gift card to buy baseball stuff and the team that sells the most balls will win a team party at Boondocks.
The main point of this fundraiser is to get our league away from having to sell chocolate every year which becomes more and more of a pain for the parents and coaches (especially for those of us that are parent coaches) and to have some fun with an event.
If you would like to purchase a ball for the drop or for more info please visit the website, it will ask you for head coaches name, child's name and team name to make sure the proper kid and team get credit.
