Awesome looking structures Seth! Can't wait to see it all done and in the tank. What did you use for the clay? I may need to do the same thing for the big tank build.

That's what I am thinking. Because I can build it exactly how I want it and how it might go together.

Pretty cool. I like the versatility. Easy to build in spots that you can easily mount frags to.
yup if this 70g goes well I am going to make a ton of inserts fort the 150g.

So with the needling tool apparently I made air pockets in the clay and 3 out of the 5 structures exploded. So I decided to just use regular live rock. I will try again down the road with ceramic when I have more time.

The rock looks good. Your structure exploded from steam. It wasn't dry all of the way thru before the kiln reached 212F. Sorry bro! Woulda been cool to see a clay structure. Maybe I'll try one...

I let it dry for 2 weeks. I am pretty sure I let it dry completely. But oh well I will try it again at a later point.

Some goals for the next 1-2 months for this tank:
  • Find a Choati Leopard wrasse
  • Find a Lapillis Leopard wrasse
  • get 2x 5"-7" clams (Teardrop maximas or Squamosas)
  • design a way to add 2x t5's to this setup to add 2x ATI blue + bulbs
  • modify my Nac 5.5 to an Atman 4000 skimmer pump
